I have lived here for 4 and a half years and this place has met my needs for the most part. It's a little pricier than other apartments, but you get what you pay for. A two bedroom unit has two full bathrooms, decent sized washer and dryer, a fireplace, and the bedrooms have individual heat control. Those are hard to find amenities in apartments.
This place isn't perfect. It's very rare to get routine maintenance done in a timely manner. The move-in condition of the apartments is hit-and-miss.... I started here in a one bedroom unit which looked very nice and was in excellent condition. I later moved into a two bedroom unit which looked dated and the condition (especially the kitchen counters) wasn't so great, although it was still worth it. So as far as apartment aesthetics go, you'll need to visit your exact unit before you move in to really know. Noise from neighbors of course depends partly on who you're neighbors are, but I almost never heard noises coming from the other apartments.
A downside to consider is the electric costs. The apartments are not very efficient in retaining heat, so the winter electric bills will be higher than average.
Overall, this a good, but not great place to live if you have to rent. The noise levels are mostly good, the neighborhood is safe and looks nice enough, the amenities are excellent, but this place isn't the cheapest.
One additional plus is there is a well-trusted auto repair shop (Groton Tire) in walking distance of the apartment complex.

As my first apartment, I don't have much experience to go off but I'm happy with country glen. The location is great, close to everything including the highway, yet is in a very quiet spot. The apartment itself is nice as well. I went with one of the upgraded apartments which includes updated kitchen. I went with a two bedroom with two bath, which having two full baths was a major selling point. The room sizes are nice, but the living room/dining room has a weird layout. Also the kitchen is... small but manageable. Some interesting features is a wood burning fireplace in every apartment, and the non common hallway style (meaning you're front door leads right outside) which can be a pro or con. Parking isn't an issue and the complex offers some great features including a heated indoor pool open year round. The rent is comparable to other complexes in the area but they are cheaper when dealing with pets. Overall I have been happy with my experience.

I have been living here for past several years, however for last couple of years everything is going way down. Management has changed three times in last year or so, no maintenance service, management office is out of sync on what's going on! They have been pushing for extended lease with increased rent, without providing any service. I have been waiting for three years to replace my windows, but haven't happened yet. Finally thinking of moving out.

When we first applied here, it took forever for anyone to get back to us. This was last fall when there was old management. That should have been our first sign to not even bother coming here. We were given a verbal agreement from the old manager that we could break a lease no problem because we are a military family. Now the new management will not honor his orders. Big mistake on our part not getting the old manager to write out the agreement, but she seemed so nice. Then a couple months later... a whole new management team came in and they just worry about the appearance of the outside while the inside apartments fall apart. Our microwave fan gave out a couple months into moving in and maintenance has yet to fix it even though we are moving out soon. They also came and ripped up our bathrooms when there was a leak to the floor below. Very very inconvenient the way they just come into your home and the guy threw all my stuff to the side that was under the sink. They also have yet to patch up the hole they made in the "master" bath! The quality of the walls, countertops and appliances is not worth the rent we pay. The noise level is terrible If you plan on coming here, do not be in the building near the club house. Very loud when the kids go out to play and very loud kids in the morning waiting for the school bus. We cannot wait for our lease to be up. I would never ever recommend this place to any of my friends or family. There has been way too many problems with the management. They are just concerned about getting you to sign on the dotted line and then they forget about you! So glad we are leaving CT.

I moved in a few months ago not expecting too much because I had heard some bad stuff. To my surprise the maintenance guys are nice, and quick and the office staff is very friendly and helpful. Not at all what I was told. They go out of their way to make you feel important.
