AWESOME Room in 4-br apartment 14-min to UCONN and walking to shopping/restaurants/and bus
STUDENTS WITHOUT CARS, PLEASE NOTE: This website relies on Google maps, which sometimes do not seem to recognize the local WRTD bus routes. As a result, it may appear that public transit to UCONN requires taking a regional route of up to 3hrs, when... in reality it is a local route taking around 30min. Sorry for any confusion, and please contact me directly if you have any specific questions about transport. Moving on....
We have 3 female recent grads who now have jobs in the area (Anna, Nicole, and Kristen) who need another person to fill out the roster and make it affordable for everyone. The cost would be about $550 per person when split amongst 4 roommates.
This house is under 7 miles from UCONN (14 minute drive) and just over 1/2 mile from the ECSU campus (walking distance).
We have a full basement with washer/dryer, and space for additional storage if you have stuff you don't want to be tripping over in your room. It is a large, historic, "American Foursquare" style home, which was built for one of the area's preeminent physicians in the 1920s. Luckily, many original design features have been left intact, which gives it a wonderful elegance that can not be matched in new "cardboard" construction.
This apartment includes the entire first floor of the generously sized house with a total square footage of approximately 1400 square feet. PLUS, it has a very large a back deck and fully fenced private back yard with volleyball/badminton net and fire pit! These are perfect for a fun backyard BBQ with friends!
And, while the neighborhood is quiet and residential (one of the town's best!), there are a wonderful selection of restaurants, pubs, and coffee shops just a short stroll away on Main St. plus the Food Co-op which is an awesome resource for healthy food shopping whatever your dietary restrictions. We are also a very short walk from the bus stop if you are commuting to Uconn and don’t feel like driving.
Please note that the photos are ones we've collected over the past several years, so some of the furnishings may have moved on with when previous residents who moved out of the area. The apartment is fully furnished though, with the exception of the room you would be occupying, however we do have a lot of extra furniture around so if you wanted us to supply some stuff to help lower your costs and avoid you having to buy everything, then we're happy to help! There is also a link to a flickr photo gallery depicting the apartment empty, if you would like to get a visual of it as a sort of blank canvas.
Don't hesitate to contact us if you think that this would be a good fit for you!
